Judicial Management Council
The Judicial Management Council is a focused advisory body that the assists the chief justice and the Supreme Court. The Council is charged, among other responsibilities, with identifying and evaluating information that would assist in improving the performance and effectiveness of the judicial branch.

Long-Range Strategic Plan
- The Council assists the Supreme Court in developing and monitoring the judicial branch’s Long-Range Strategic Plan. See 2022-2027 Long-Range Strategic Plan.
Current Workgroups
- Workgroup on Vexatious Litigants
- The workgroup recommended improvements to the Florida Vexatious Litigant Law and drafted rule and statutory amendments addressing the public disclosure of improper matter stricken from noncriminal court filings that would defame and harm individuals. See Final Report and Recommendations (Sept. 6, 2024). The workgroup’s term expires on June 30, 2025.
- The workgroup recommended improvements to the Florida Vexatious Litigant Law and drafted rule and statutory amendments addressing the public disclosure of improper matter stricken from noncriminal court filings that would defame and harm individuals. See Final Report and Recommendations
- Workgroup on Judicial Practices in the Trial Courts
- The workgroup developed (1) templates for judicial practices and procedures, (2) best practices for judicial office communications, and (3) best practices for adequate hearing time availability. See Final Report and Recommendations (Sept. 26, 2024). The workgroup’s term expires on October 31, 2025.

- Workgroup on Uncontested Probate Proceedings
- The workgroup is charged with making recommendations to redesign and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of this state’s processes and procedures for uncontested probate proceedings. The workgroup’s term expires on May 1, 2026.

- Workgroup on Improved Resolution of Civil Cases
- The workgroup developed recommendations to implement differentiated case management in civil cases. See Final Report (Nov. 15, 2021). The Florida Supreme Court made a series of phased referrals to further refine and study the workgroup’s recommendations via In re: Report and Recommendations of the Workgroup on Improved Resolution of Civil Cases, SC2022-0122 (Fla. 2023). To date, the Florida Supreme Court has approved many of the workgroup’s recommendations through the following opinions:
